Appeals Committee: Nicole Mark, Nicole Mark Photography, Booth #807
Having had the honor of serving on the Appeals Committee over the past year, I have gained valuable insight into the diverse concerns and unique challenges that vendors face. I would very much like to continue this work, diligently ensuring that each appeal is considered with objectivity, empathy, and integrity. I believe that maintaining harmony within our market is not just about resolving conflicts, but about fostering a culture of mutual respect and understanding. As a returning member, I will continue to advocate for an inclusive and safe environment where every vendor—regardless of background, experience, or product—feels heard, valued, and supported. I am committed to helping guide decisions that not only uphold our policies but also reflect the spirit of equity and collaboration that make our market thrive.
I hope you’ll vote to re-elect me so I can continue working with the Appeals Committee in building trust and cohesion among vendors and staff while supporting a process that is both just and compassionate.
Board of Directors: Sherry Bingaman, Sherry Bingaman Textiles, Booth #329
Please vote for me for a seat on the PSM Board. I joined the market in 2014 when I moved here from Missouri. I have been selling my textiles at art shows for over 40 years.
I've been on both the PRC and Food committees, followed by two terms as a board member. I am currently on the board and head the new Vendor Resource Team, welcoming new members and helping them experience a successful market beginning.
More person info-- I had a full-time weaving business with my husband for 15 years. Then I was a K-12 art and gifted teacher for 13 years, followed by 6 years as an elementary principal. I continued to travel to art shows in the summer during my education years.
I have two grown daughters who are both successful working artists who also live in Portland.
I love the market and plan to be here until I drop! It's my home-away from home and my social life. I treasure this fun and supportive community of interesting people. There is no other place like it!
Board of Directors: Andrew Lonnquist, Olander Earthworks, Booth #406
My name is Andrew Lonnquist. I’m running again because I care about this place. I care about our community and the idea of the place we share. I began Olander Earthworks and my membership at PSM in 2008; it’s been good to me and crucial to the growth of my business. I have served on the Board since 2017, spending these years as liaison to the PRC, vice chair, treasurer, and map czar since the Covid shutdown. Having had three years to familiarize myself with our pre-covid operations, and actively participating in navigating the disruptions and challenges this organization has faced ever since, I believe I have a good feel for the moment we are in at PSM. As I see it, we are in the best position that we’ve been in for a long time; poised not just to survive, but thrive.
I believe in our mission statement; it’s our north star and it’s on point. With an engaged, high-functioning and invested staff, I believe my experience can help the board, committees, and membership keep our compass pointed north and steering straight. I hope to help shore up the structures our membership uses to self-direct, help negotiate our future with stakeholders, and help re-establish our focus on short and long range strategic planning after a period with a lot of triage, rapid change, and repair. I believe as we look forward, with all the assets and history we share, we need to focus on our collective brand; how PSM looks to both customers and prospective vendors. We offer a unique experience to both groups, with more talent than the general public expects, and more accessibility and opportunity than the maker community of this region realizes. How we understand and share who we are now, as well as who we strive to be, will help the board define our course as we plan ahead, and bring our visual and verbal communication into alignment with our contemporary collective offering. I’m choosing to run again because I care about this place- past, present and future, and I’m asking for your vote.

Accounts Fact of the Week: Cash is my second favorite payment method. It costs the least, and you don’t risk Returned Check fees (see pg 55 of the handbook). However, payments by check and card are easier to verify. I strongly recommend getting a receipt if you pay with cash. Not only can this help catch human errors, but it can also be useful for tax purposes.
